CLIENT IN-HOUSE FILE REVIEW (AVAILABLE IN DOWNSTATE NEW YORK ONLY)
At your request, an IMEDVIEW staff member will come to your office to copy medical records on pre-selected files and schedule your IME's. The staff member will schedule your medical examinations with the appropriate Physician and later email, fax or mail you the appointment notification letter including all scheduling information. This service includes recording all pertinent information and copying medical records to conveniently arrange your examinations.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS The question asked most often during testimony is, "Did the Physician know exactly what the claimant did for a living when the claimant was examined and the medical opinion regarding return to work was in question?" The strength of any medical report depends upon the accuracy of the information which the examining Physician receives. We welcome any job description that you have available to be referred to by the examining Physician upon rendering a medical opinion. If a job description is not available, IMEDVIEW, Inc. provides a service designed to provide you with an accurate job description via the US Department of Labor and Training Administration.
IMEDVIEW, Inc. will provide a formal document to be used during the examination that details the duties required of the claimant’s present occupation. Included in the description is a most accurate job title and a detailed explanation of the duties necessary for the satisfactory performance of the job title. The IMEDVIEW Physician will compare the job description requirements with the claimant’s own description of his/her job and note any variations. The result is that the IMEDVIEW Physician will have a more accurate and documented outline of what the claimant’s work entails. The Physician will then compare this information to the findings in the examination to provide you with a very thorough assessment.
A copy of this job description will be provided to you with the IMEDVIEW medical report. Please request this service at the time you arrange the examination.
DIAGNOSTIC TESTING If you decide diagnostic procedures (x-ray, blood test, etc.) are necessary, IMEDVIEW, Inc. will arrange to have this testing performed prior to the examination in order to have this information available for the examining Physician to review. This testing is an additional charge and may delay the completion of your medical report.
DIAGNOSTIC TEST RESULTS OBTAINED If you are unable to obtain previously performed diagnostic test results, IMEDVIEW, Inc. will attempt to obtain these results for you. When scheduling the examination, please inform us as to where the diagnostic testing was performed as well as any authorizations, so that we may obtain this information for the examining Physician. Please note, fees will vary.
PRE-EXAM CONFERENCE You may decide it is advantageous for you and/or your attorney to meet with the Physician prior to an examination to review the medical records and discuss the case. Such conferences may be appropriate in order for the Physician to fully understand the nature of the claimant’s work and/or the relevant medical issues that you would like the examination or record review to focus on.
TRANSPORTATION ARRANGEMENTS Upon request, IMEDVIEW, Inc. will be pleased to arrange taxi or other transportation for the claimant to and from the examination. This service is provided at an additional charge.
INTERPRETER SERVICES For those claimants who do not speak English, IMEDVIEW, Inc. can arrange for an interpreter to be present during the medical examination. Upon request, we will automatically provide a special attachment in the particular foreign language to accompany the claimant’s appointment notification letter. This service needs to be requested at the time you schedule the examination.
PHOTOGRAPHS When scheduling the examination, you can request that a photograph of the claimant and the claimant’s injuries be taken. This can be especially beneficial in identifying the claimant and in evaluating scarring and disfigurement claims.
PANEL EXAMS In special circumstances, you may require more than one medical opinion to assess the claimant’s medical condition. A Panel examination can be arranged by IMEDVIEW, Inc. whereby two or more Physicians examine and evaluate the claimant simultaneously. The panel may consist of same or different medical specialties. You can receive a separate medical report from each Physician or their opinions can be combined in a single report to summarize their findings and include all Physicians' signature. Fee's are determined by location, number of Physicians and specialty of Physicians.
